July 25 was one of the first really great summer days weather wise and 100,000 Calgarians came out in droves to enjoy a day of music, dancing, and salsa tasting. Competition was fierce among Kensington business owners and Mayoral Candidates as over 600 gallons of salsa was served up to festival goers. Vero Bistro swept the boards in all three categories – Best Salsa, Best Presentation and Most Creative Recipe. Ric McIver took home the Mayor’s Campaign Salsa trophy. Our charities, The Brenda Strafford Centre and Brown Bagging for Calgary’s Kids made over $23,000 selling salsa chips and water. Thank you to everyone who came out and bought chips from our charity chip stations to support our charities and thank you to all our wonderful Kensington businesses for once again making all that salsa!
