SCHEDULE COMING SOON!
This year's Sun and Salsa focuses on the LEAD Foundation and the Agape Hospice.
 
The LEAD Foundation provides developmentally appropriate, activity-based, family-focused programs to support children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and related disabilities.
     
  The Agape Hospice is a home away from home for the terminally ill and their families. Agape Hospice provides palliative care to people who are terminally ill. Care is aimed not at curing disease but at maintaining or improving the quality of life for someone who is dying. Physical, social, emotional and spiritual care in a homelike, welcoming setting is given to individuals and their loved ones who have a terminal or life threatening illness.

Kensington, Calgary's 'Village in the City', invites you to participate in the Salsa Tasting Contest between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Purchase a bag of chips from the LEAD Foundation for $3, and prepare to judge spicy salsa recipes served up by teams of Kensington businesses. Agape Hospice will be selling water for $2.

The annual family event takes place along Kensington Road and 10th Street NW, and the Latin flavour will mambo through the neighbourhood all through the day. Music and dancing will fill the street, and our great restaurants and pubs promise to provide you with non-stop entertainment.

Both Kensington Road and 10th Street will be closed for the day. There's an LRT stop right at the Kensington Safeway, so public transit is a great way to beat the crowds. And we're right off the bike paths so why not ride, blade, run or walk on over to our festival!

Miss Sun and Salsa Pageant

 Come join us as we search for
Miss Sun and Salsa!

This fun-filled day will include fashion shows, entertainment and
of course our swimsuit, sundress and speech competition.


This pageant was created for two purposes:

1. To showcase the fashions of our great Kensington clothing boutiques.

2. To have a pageant designed for the benefit and enjoyment of the contestants
